What we do with a safety report
Reports go to a desk that can see the trip, not into a mailbox.
People report things far less often than they experience them, and the reason is nearly always the same belief: that nothing will happen.
It is worth explaining what actually happens, because the answer determines whether reporting is worth your time.
A report is attached to a trip
When you report something about a trip, the report carries that trip with it. Whoever picks it up can see the route, the driver, the vehicle, the times and the trip's own record. They are not asking you to reconstruct it from memory.
This is the single most important structural detail. A complaint without a record is one person's account against another's. A report attached to a trip is a document.
It reaches a desk, not a mailbox
Safety reports and SOS alerts reach Topsy's safety desk, where they are worked rather than filed. Incidents have a state: they are open, they are being handled, they are resolved.
Patterns are the point
A single report about a driver may be a bad day, a misunderstanding, or something serious. Three reports describing the same behaviour are a pattern, and patterns are what allow action that is fair rather than reactive.
This is why reporting something minor still matters. You may be the second or the third, and you have no way of knowing.
What we cannot promise
We are not going to tell you that every report produces an outcome you will see. Some involve another person's account and cannot be discussed with you. Some are investigated and found to be a misunderstanding, which is a legitimate outcome too.
What we can say is that it is examined against a real record, and that the record does not disappear.
Drivers report too
It runs both ways. Drivers can report riders, and those reports are handled the same way. A platform where only one side can raise a concern is not a safety system; it is a complaints channel.
